Let the whole app go.
Deleting a Mac app leaves its preferences, caches and support folders behind. Expunge looks for them in the usual Library folders (Application Support, Preferences, Caches, Logs and more) and moves the ones you choose to the Trash.
macOS 26 or later, Apple silicon and Intel.

How it goes
Choose an app
Pick it from your own apps on the User tab, or from Apple’s apps on the System tab.
Read the list
Every related file is grouped by kind and shown with its full path. Untick anything you want to keep.
Move it to the Trash
Press Expunge…, check the paths in Expunge Preview, then click Move to Trash: the ticked files move to the Trash. Nothing is erased. Until you empty the Trash, any of it can come back.

About the app
- Stays on your Mac
- No account. Crash reports are off unless you turn them on.
- Native Mac app
- Made in Swift and SwiftUI for macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later. Runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
From the terminal
The expunge command does the same work. Purge is a dry run until you add --yes. Read the CLI docs
~ % expunge related /Applications/ChatGPT.app --json > chatgpt.json (78 related items)~ % expunge purge --manifest chatgpt.jsonwould purge: /Applications/ChatGPT.app would purge: /Users/example/Library/Application Support/ChatGPT would purge: /Users/example/Library/Caches/ChatGPTHelper would purge: /Users/example/Library/Caches/com.openai.codex would purge: /Users/example/Library/Logs/com.openai.codex would purge: /Users/example/Library/Preferences/ChatGPTHelper.plist would purge: /Users/example/Library/Preferences/com.openai.codex.plist error: (7 paths would move to Trash)~ % These counts come from a different Mac and run than the 461 above, and purge lists only top-level paths (a folder’s files move with it), so the numbers differ.
